The School of Nursing and Health Sciences, located in both Tifton and ABAC Bainbridge, offers both a traditional two-year Associate in Science of Nursing (ASN) Degree and a one-year Bridge Program for students who have health sciences backgrounds such as a licensed practical nurse, paramedic, or respiratory therapist. In addition, an RN-BSN Program is available for Registered Nurses to complete their baccalaureate degrees. ABAC Nursing boasts highly qualified and dedicated faculty members who impart knowledge and skills necessary for the nursing profession while instilling values of life-long learning.
The Nursing Program, established in 1966, has a longstanding history of excellence in nursing as evidenced by our exceptional NCLEX-RN licensure pass rates, high employer satisfaction, and superior job placement rates. The success, achievements, and overall strength of the nursing programs are due to the dedication of our faculty and staff, determination of our students, and dynamic support from our clinical affiliations.
We have partnered with the best hospitals and community agencies in the state of Georgia to offer hands-on, real-life clinical experiences. Students develop and refine their clinical judgment and nursing skills at Tift Regional Medical Center, Colquitt Regional Medical Center, South Georgia Medical Center, John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital, Donalsonville Hospital, Memorial Hospital, and Manor, Miller County Hospital, Florida State Hospital, and many other excellent healthcare sites.
If you have been looking for a school where you can receive superior quality instruction with individual attention, supported by a rich clinical learning environment, I invite you to become a part of our ABAC family at the Tifton or Bainbridge locations and begin your professional nursing career!

See what our students have to say about our School.
I chose ABAC because of its outstanding reputation for producing "top of the line" nurses. The ABAC Nursing program has awesome professors and staff members who really care about the student's success. Our professors have always challenged us to be the best and I appreciate that. Being a single mother and working 2 jobs while in nursing school has not been easy, but I was hungry for success. This program has given me a chance to make a positive impact on my community. The program is rigorous but worth it. I feel that I have learned so much and will be able to be a competent nurse someday. I have met many friends and possible future colleagues through this program. We have laughed and cried together but most of all we have had a blast!!
The school of nursing at ABAC has far exceeded any and all of my expectations! It has done so in a sense of how tough it can be but, it has also done so in a sense that the teachers have adequately provided the needed guidance and support to get me through each phase. I chose this program because of its reputation for being one of; if not the best nursing schools around, I can honestly say it has been just that. I will be forever grateful for all of the relationships I have formed both with my peers and my instructors. I would also like to thank ABAC school of nursing for the opportunities that have been presented to me to further my career!
My favorite part about the ABAC Nursing Program is the friendships I have made. Connections with my professors will undoubtedly help to further my career goals. I am very thankful for the opportunities that have been afforded to me in this program, and I would recommend it to anyone.
ABAC has felt like home since the first day I stepped onto campus. I fell in love with the campus and how the faculty and staff want to see me succeed in my education. As a nursing student, the faculty gives so many opportunities for us to have hands-on experience which will help me in my future career.
ABAC has given me the second chance I needed to do life right. I am a single mom that works full time. Because of ABAC and its wonderful staff motivating me and helping me along the way, in May 2021 I will graduate with an Associate Degree in Nursing. ABAC has already taught me so much, not just in my field of study, but also about who I am. There was a reason I only applied to ABAC and its nursing program. I will always recommend it as the best around.
I love ABAC because it has allowed me to pursue my dream of becoming a Registered Nurse in the comfort of my hometown. I also love ABAC because the class sizes are fairly small and allow you more one-on-one interaction with your professors. My ABAC education is preparing me for what lies ahead once I receive my degree. Graduating from ABAC’s nursing program will give me an advantage over other nurses who did not receive their education from ABAC.
Meet some of our brilliant and dedicated professors.
I have been in higher education for 16 years. I practiced for 23 years as a Registered Nurse with my specialty area being maternal-infant care. I have experience in the ER and Med-Surg floors as well. I was a Director of the Maternal Infant floor for 12 years. I also was a nursing supervisor periodically through my 23 years in hospital employment.
I currently am the senior level / preceptor coordinator for the RN associate program (traditional and accelerated-bridge programs) here at ABAC. I have been in higher education for over 30 years, teaching over 12 years at the baccalaureate level and approximately 20 years at the associate level, with the last 11 years at ABAC. Providing critical care experiences and helping nursing students understand that nursing is the finest art – “A blend of caring and science.” Critical illness not only affects the patient, but the entire family/support system is impacted. Supporting families/ social support system is integral to excellence in patient care. Providing nursing education that sets high standards with an emphasis on caring, working as a team, and doing your best is what ABAC Nursing signifies to me.
